A clear, structured construction journey

Building a Habin residential annexe should feel reassuring, not overwhelming. Our construction process is carefully planned, professionally managed and transparently communicated, so you always know what’s happening and why.

We use proven house-building methods, high-quality materials and disciplined quality control to ensure every Habin is structurally sound, energy-efficient and built to last for decades.

At key milestones, we invite you to site so you can see progress first-hand, ask questions and feel confident every step of the way.

How we build, step-by-step

Habin garden annexe groundworks construction

1. Site Preparation & Substructures

We begin by carefully preparing the site and building the foundations. The foundations will be traditional built as strip foundations of circa 1m deep (subject to survey) and will  ensure your Habin is structurally sound and built to last for decades.

2. Weather-Tight Superstructure Construction

Next, we construct the main building shell, walls, roof, windows and doors, so your Habin becomes fully sealed from the elements. Reaching this stage allows internal works to progress in controlled conditions.

3. First Fix

First fix is where the essential but hidden elements are installed — electrics, plumbing, heating, ventilation and insulation. These systems are critical to comfort, safety and low running costs.

4. Final Finishes

This is where your Habin becomes a home. Kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, lighting and internal finishes are carefully installed, with close attention to detail and workmanship. We take particular care at this stage to ensure everything feels right - practical, calm, and beautifully finished.

Built properly, built to last

Every Habin is constructed to full residential standards using proven house-building methods and robust materials. These are permanent buildings engineered for durability, comfort and performance - not temporary garden structures.

Our background in bespoke housebuilding informs everything we do. From structural detailing and insulation performance to airtightness and long-term material behaviour, every decision is made with longevity in mind.

The result is a residential annexe that:

  • Performs exceptionally in all seasons

  • Maintains low running costs

  • Requires minimal maintenance

  • Provides lasting comfort and reassurance
